A people’s movement towards education equity
The Shikshagraha Center of Excellence (CoE) is a hub for collectively building an understanding of how to make public schools the first choice for every child in India.
The CoE works with partner organisations, governments, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to explore the growth and sustenance of collective leadership, and how communities and educators can lead local solutions. The CoE supports better decisions and stronger outcomes across the Shikshagraha movement through research, shared tools, curated assets, and collaboration - speeding up ecosystem’s learning, reducing duplication, and enabling education change at scale.
Collective action is at the heart of Shikshagraha. Effective partnerships between communities, government, CSOs and philanthropists are critical to the success of the movement.
The CoE aids this process by creating shared frameworks, tools, and language to unify diverse actors. It captures best practices from the programs, curates context agnostic resources which encourages and enables partners to “build on” rather than “build again”.
Stakeholder agency is a core operating principle for a movement like Shikshagraha to succeed. The belief that local problems require local solutions and decentralised action with ownership, powers the movement.
The CoE creates playbooks, toolkits and frameworks that can help partners unlock the agency of systems and communities. It also generates evidence of how decentralised action and agency can result in accelerating social movements.
Tools, insights, and case studies to help educators, partners, and changemakers drive local solutions for stronger public education.
